Ponies Drop Rubber Game to Thunder in Seven
Binghamton, NY – The Rumble Ponies dropped the rubber game of the series to the Trenton Thunder 4-1 at NYSEG Stadium in a game that was called after seven innings due to inclement weather. Trenton wins the season series six games to five while the Ponies drop their third consecutive series.
Brandon Wagner got Trenton on the board with a home run to left off of Ponies starter Tommy Wilson (0-3). Wagner has now hit three of his five home runs on the year in Binghamton. Wilson took the loss despite allowing only two runs on five hits over five, with two walks and seven strikeouts. Adonis Uceta replaced Wilson in the sixth and gave up a two-run homer to Trenton catcher Kellin Deglan that made it 4-0 Thunder.
The Ponies scored their lone run in the bottom of the seventh as Will Toffey hit an RBI double off of Thunder reliever Brady Lail.
Trenton RHP Nick Nelson (2-1) earned the win allowing four hits over five scoreless frames in the start.

POSTGAME NOTES: The Thunder scored first in all three games of the series…It is the first rain-shortened game of the season for the Rumble Ponies…Friday night the Rumble Ponies will become the “Binghamton Stud Muffins.”
