Early Offense, Pill’s Gem, Vault B-Mets to 7-2 Win
BINGHAMTON, NY- The Binghamton Mets plated seven runs over the first three innings and Tyler Pill struck out six in a 7-2 win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels, Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. The win completed a three-game series sweep, the B-Mets’ second sweep of the season.
Binghamton started fast in the first inning. Derrik Gibson reached on an error and L.J. Mazzilli followed with a single. Dominic Smith then stroked a single up the middle, scoring Gibson. Later, with runners on first and third, Colton Plaia smacked a single to right.  Mazzilli scored and Hunter Cole airmailed a throw into the stands past third, allowing Jayce Boyd to take an extra base and make the score 3-0.
In the second, Maikis De La Cruz led off with a walk and Gibson singled. Mazzilli then shot a triple to the right field corner, scoring De La Cruz and Gibson. Amed Rosario followed with a single, scoring Mazilli to make it 6-0.
The B-Mets added one more in the third inning as Tyler Pill grounded into a double play with the bases loaded, allowing Plaia to score for a 7-0 lead.

Andrew Suarez (2-5) was chased after two plus innings and allowed seven runs, four earned, on eight hits. He was tagged with the loss.
