B-METS 3-YARD GOATS 2

Sabol, B-Mets, Outlast Yard Goats, 3-2
BINGHAMTON, NY- Stefan Sabol cracked a walk-off single in the bottom of the 13th inning and the Binghamton Mets defeated the Hartford Yard Goats, 3-2, Friday night at NYSEG Stadium. The B-Mets earned their second walk-off win in as many nights. Sabol finished 4-for-6 with three RBI and two doubles.
With the game tied at two in the 13th, Victor Cruzado singled and was sacrificed to second by L.J. Mazzilli. With two strikes and two outs, Sabol pulled a pitch down the third base line and Cruzado sprinted around to score, giving the B-Mets a 3-2 walk-off win. 
Binghamton tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. Trailing 2-1, Colton Plaia smacked a one-out double. He was pinch run for by Maikis De La Cruz, when raced home to score when Sabol shot a single to left, tying the game at two.
The Yard Goats struck first in the top of the first inning. With two outs, Pat Valaika singled. Dillon Thomas then walked and Rainy Lara struck out Ryan McMahon but a wild pitch allowed him to reach first a load the bases. Correlle Prime then singled in Valaika, giving Hartford a 1-0 lead.
Binghamton got one back in the second. Cruzado walked to lead off the frame and with two outs Sabol blasted a double to the gap in left center. It allowed Cruzado to score from first, tying the game at one.
Hartford kept rolling in the third, aided by a pair of errors. With Valaika at first, Dillon Thomas shot a grounder into right. Sabol misplayed it, allowing Valaika and Thomas to each take an extra base. Sabol then fired the ball in but the cutoff man Mazzilli missed it, and Valaika scampered home to score, giving the Yard Goats a 2-1 lead.
Rainy Lara allowed two runs, one earned, on four hits with six strikeouts in six innings. In his Double-A debut, Sam Howard went 6.1 innings and surrendered one run on seven hits with three strikeouts. Both men received no-decisions.
Sabol went 4-for-6 with two doubles and drove in all three Binghamton runs. Dominic Smith was 2-for-5 with a pair of singles.
Game two of the series is set for 7:05 PM on Saturday. RHP Josh Zeid will make his B-Met debut against RHP Zach Jemiola for the Yard Goats. The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pregame Show can be heard starting a 6:50 PM on News Radio 1290 WNBF and the Binghamton Mets channel on TuneIn.
POSTGAME NOTES: Victor Cruzado extended his hitting streak to eight games…the B-Mets played back-to-back games of 12 innings or more for the first time since June 2 and June 3, 1995…Binghamton won a game it trailed after eight innings for the first time since June 5, 2015 against New Britain
