Rumble Ponies Held Scoreless by RubberDucks
AKRON, OH – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies fell to the Akron RubberDucks 3-0 Saturday night at Canal Park.
The Rumble Ponies (22-24, 57-53) were limited to six hits and had runners in scoring position just three times. They had runners on first and second with one out in the fifth after back-to-back hits by Quinn Brodey and Mike Paez, but a pair of flyouts ended the scoring threat. The Ponies also left two runners on in the first inning.
RHP Eli Morgan (6-2) earned the win with six scoreless innings in which he struck out six and allowed four hits. Lefty David Peterson (3-4) suffered the loss as he allowed one run on one hit with three strikeouts in 3.1 innings. Dalbert Siri picked up his ninth save with a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
The RubberDucks (16-27, 50-62) got on the scoreboard in the fourth inning on a Connor Marabell RBI double. Then in the sixth with the bases loaded, Marabell delivered again with an RBI single off Darwin Ramos. Alex Call followed with a sacrifice fly to score the Ducks’ third run.
