Renegades Set to Unveil New Stadium Seats in Advance of 26th Season

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - The Hudson Valley Renegades, Short Season Class-A Affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, are excited to announce a complete overhaul of the seating bowl at Dutchess Stadium, installing brand-new stadium chairs throughout the ballpark.

The construction project, which will be completed in advance of Renegades Opening Day on June 16, consists of the new seating and repairs to the concrete surfaces throughout the ballpark. In addition, the parking lot is scheduled to receive lighting and aesthetic upgrades as well as a complete resurfacing in the near future.

"The new seats will offer fans a completely upgraded experience. The added comfort and accessibility of the ballpark will provide a modern, upscale experience to our fans," said Renegades President and General Manager Steve Gliner. Gliner was with the Renegades when the club started in 1994, and after returning back from Fort Myers, Florida in 2017, is thrilled to see the upgrades come full circle.

Along with new seats, the Renegades are rebranding the seating areas to better reflect the improved quality. The Box sections behind home plate will be renamed the Empire Box, and the Box Sections spanning the length of the baselines will now be known to as Lower Box. The second deck elevated reserved section behind home plate is now the Upper Box. The Reserved Grandstand section down the first and third baselines are now the Valley Reserved seats. It is important to note that prior to this season, the Valley Reserved seats were bench seating and will now be wider, chair back individual seats. The General Admission seating will remain at the far end of each grandstand with the addition on each side of the ballpark to include half of sections 307 and 302.

What makes these seats special is that it will make almost all of the seating in the stadium a chair with a back. The Empire Box will have a chair with an approximate three-inch cushion. The Upper Box and Lower Box will have a seat with an approximate one-inch cushion. In addition to the sections listed above, the General Admission seating is receiving new bench covers for both the seats and the backs.

Box Office Manager Kyler DeMale said he's excited for the fans to experience the new seats.

"It's going to greatly enhance their comfort levels at the games. The front office was excited to get them installed and now we can't wait to share them with our fans!" DeMale explained.

Models of the new seats are currently on site at Dutchess Stadium, and we encourage fans to come out to the park and relax in style as you decide on your ticket needs for the 2019 season! The Renegades will be hosting an official ribbon cutting ceremony to unveil the seats on Opening Night, June 16.
