RailRiders Stifle Bulls
Domingo German Weaves Seven-Inning Gem


Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) blanked the Durham Bulls 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at PNC Field to salvage a victory in the weekend series. The RailRiders (79-47) lowered their magic number to clinch the IL North Division down to nine. The Bulls (77-49) suffered just their fourth shutout defeat this season.

SWB got a terrific start from Domingo German (5-2). The right-hander scattered four hits and walked two across seven scoreless frames and struck out nine, one shy of his Triple-A season high. Giovanny Gallegos recorded the final six outs to nail down his fifth save and the RailRiders’ 13th shutout.

The RailRiders pushed across a run on seven hits against Durham right-hander Yonny Chirinos (11-5) during his five stanzas. Jake Cave singled home Mason Williams for a 1-0 lead in the second.

Miguel Andujar belted a towering homer out to left with one away in the sixth for a 2-0 lead. The shot was his eighth with SWB. Andujar capped his strong afternoon at the plate with an RBI-double that plated Cave in the eighth.

Starlin Castro played all nine innings as designated hitter and finished 1-for-4. Through three games on his rehab assignment with SWB, Castro is 2-for-11.
