Tyler Austin’s Stunner Propels RailRiders to Victory
Luis Cessa Strikes Out Nine over Five Innings


Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) grabbed their 10th walk-off triumph at PNC Field on Friday night when Tyler Austin launched a two-run homer out to left-center.The RailRiders (70-41) defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox 3-1.

Luis Cessa set the tone early for SWB, blanking the PawSox (54-57) over five innings. The right-hander struck out a season-high nine batters and scattered three hits. Ben Heller (4-3) got the win thanks to Austin’s deciding blow in the last of the ninth. Heller hurled two shutout innings and struck out three while allowing an infield single to Rusney Castillo.

Miguel Andujar tallied three hits on the night. His second knock drove in Wilkin Castillo with two out in the third and his third hit came off Williams Jerez (0-1) in the ninth. Andujar extended his hitting streak to 17 games.

Trailing 1-0, Pawtucket tied the game in the seventh when Castillo homered off Jonathan Holder.

Jake Cave singled to right in the first inning to extend his hitting streak to 19 games overall and 24 straight at PNC Field. The 19-gamer is the longest by a RailRider this year and lengthiest active stretch in the International League.

The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders continue their weekend home series with the Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox) on Saturday evening at 6:35 p.m.  Right-hander Domingo German (3-1, 3.51) matches up with left-hander Brian Johnson (3-2, 2.84). The first 2,500 fans through the gates at PNC Field on Saturday will receive a Digicam Jersey, presented by Performance Kia! The night will conclude with Kids Run the Bases and a King’s College fireworks show!
