2 ADDED TO PONIES BASEBALL SHRINE

Crabb & Coleman to be Added to Baseball Shrine
BINGHAMTON, NY – Former Binghamton Mayor Juanita Crabb and former Binghamton Triplet Jerry Coleman will be inducted into Binghamton’s Baseball Shrine in a ceremony at NYSEG Stadium before the Binghamton Rumble Ponies game on Friday, September 1 at 7:05 PM.
While serving as Mayor of the City of Binghamton, Crabb was instrumental in bringing professional baseball back to the Southern Tier. She united the forces of her office, the New York State government and the New York Mets to raise the necessary funds for the construction of a brand-new downtown ballpark. Crabb will be in attendance for her enshrinement.
Coleman, a member of the 1946 Binghamton Triplets, played for nine seasons in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees. He appeared in six World Series and claimed MVP honors in the 1950 Fall Classic. Coleman spent more than four decades calling games for the Padres, securing a spot in the hearts of Southern California baseball fans.
Created in 1993, Binghamton’s Baseball Shrine honors all the individuals who contributed to America’s Pastime in the Southern Tier. The elite club boasts 65 members with additional worthy candidates inducted annually. See below for a full list of all the inductees.
