CHOI POWERS RAILRIDERS

Choi Powers RailRiders to Series Split
Ji-Man Choi Belts 14th Homer, Drives in Four

Durham, N.C. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) rallied for a 4-2 win against the Durham Bulls on Sunday evening at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The win salvages a split of the four-game series for the RailRiders (77-43). Durham slips to 73-47.

Nestor Cortes began his spot start strong by striking out six straight batters. The southpaw hurled 4.2 innings and yielded one unearned run on one hit. He finished with eight strikeouts and did not allow a walk. Ben Heller (5-3) struck out the final five batters he faced over two perfect frames.

Trailing 2-0 in the seventh, Ji-Man Choi laced a two-run double into the right field corner. The line drive glanced off the glove of the diving right fielder Taylor Featherston, allowing Donovan Solano and Billy McKinney to score.

Choi polished off his big day by jacking a two-run shot over the tall blue wall in left field. McKinney crossed on Choi’s 14th homer of the year for the winning margin.
