CHAMPIONSHIP COMMUNITY AMBASSADORS

National Championship Game Community Ambassadors
The SWB RailRiders have the honor of hosting the 2017 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game at PNC Field in Moosic on September 19. The game will be broadcast live nationally on NBC Sports Network and it is an incredible opportunity to showcase the best of NEPA. The SWB RailRiders and their charitable arm, the SWB Pinstripes Foundation, have teamed up with Stand Up To Cancer to create a historic and unprecedented fundraising campaign. The SWB Pinstripes Foundation’s fundraising goal for this event is $250,000, which will primarily benefit local cancer affiliated charities. Proceeds from this event will be distributed amongst Northeast Pennsylvania organizations and charities who support patients, survivors, caretakers, and all individuals who are impacted by cancer. These organizations include: the American Cancer Society, Coaches Vs. Cancer, Foundation for Cancer Care, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network,  Northeast Regional Cancer Institute,  Prostate  Cancer Awareness Alliance, and Susan G. Komen of NEPA. Participation in this game and this historic event by our local community will be crucial in the success and lasting impact we intend to make on our local area and our fight against cancer.
To help bring our community together on September 19, the RailRiders are empowering local community members to serve as National Championship Game Community Ambassadors. Each of these NCG Community Ambassadors will hail from 14 different communities across NEPA and will be responsible for spreading awareness about the meaning behind this game and helping us inspire others that have been affected by cancer.
NCG Community Ambassadors will represent those whose lives have been affected by cancer and will be rallying their respective communities to help make this game the largest attended sporting event ever held in NEPA. The NCG Community Ambassadors will participate in weekly local media calls and press conferences to tell their story, gain support for this cause and bring their community to the game. Each NCG Community Ambassador will be given a promo code and link through which tickets to the 2017 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game can be purchased. One of a kind prizes will be awarded to a randomly selected individual from each participating community, with the top prize an all-expense paid cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines. NCG Community Ambassadors are still needed for several communities. Contact Jordan Maydole – Director of Community Relations, SWB RailRiders at 570-558-4616jmaydole@swbrailriders.com to learn more.
