Edison, who noted Bowlero Corp and the PBA have been in acquisition talks for the past few years, said the timing was finally right to complete the deal. During the 24-minute interview she also talks about Bowlero’s passion for the sport, its plans for growth and its confidence in the PBA’s future.

NEW PBA PRO BOWLING VIDEO GAME PREVIEW NOW AVAILABLE
A new PBA Pro Bowling video game, created in partnership with FarSight Studios, is about to make its debut. A preview of the official PBA-licensed console video game is now available on YouTube: https://youtu.be/OplDifm24I0.
The game will feature dozens of venues and playing environments, quickplay and local multi-player modes, online leaderboards, E-Sports style online tournaments and more. More than 25 PBA Tour stars will be included in the launch of the game with in-game commentary from PBA Hall of Famer Randy Pedersen.

PBA INTERNATIONAL-WBT THAILAND FINALS SET FOR SATURDAY
The eighth annual PBA International-World Bowling Tour Thailand Open is underway at Blu-O Paragon in Bangkok. The tournament, offering a $32,250 first prize, concludes Saturday.

Following the Thailand Open, two tournaments remain on the 2019 Go Bowling! PBA Tour and World Bowling Tour schedules: the U.S. Open, Oct. 23-30 at Victory Lanes Family Entertainment Center in Mooresville, N.C., and the Kuwait Open at Kuwait Bowling Center in Kuwait City, Oct. 31-Nov. 6.
Anthony Lavery-Spahr of Pasadena, Texas, steadily moved up after each round of the PBA Odessa Southwest Super Regional Open to claim his third straight victory in the annual Odessa event at Diamond Lanes, overtaking Shawn Maldonado of Houston in the final game to claim the $5,000 first prize.
Lavery-Spahr started his climb from fourth place after the eight-game qualifying round. He then moved up to third after the five-game casher’s round, and then won five of his first seven matches in the eight-game modified round-robin finals to close to within 27 pins of Maldonado going into the final position round match. Needing a win over Maldonado to claim the 30 match play bonus pins for the title, Lavery-Spahr struck on four of his first six shots while Maldonado started the game with an open frame. Lavery-Spahr continued to strike through the 10th frame to clinch his fifth career PBA Regional title.
Lavery-Spahr finished with a 21-game total of 4,575 pins, including match play bonus pins. Maldonado had 4,512 total pins to earn $2,700 for second place.
• Jakob Butturff of Tempe, Ariz.; Alx Arizala of Tualatin, Ore., and non-member Leea Haworth of Tumwater, Wash., were victorious in a PBA Northwest Region tripleheader at Paradise Lanes in Tacoma, Wash., Sunday.
Butturff posted an 8-4 match play record and a 20-game total of 5,014 pins, including match play bonus pins, to win the Paradise Lanes Northwest/West Open, a standard PBA Regional event, by 357 pins over Marshall Kent of Yakima, Wash. The win was Butturff’s 22nd PBA Regional title and he received $2,000 for the win.
Arizala won the PBA50 Gary Mage Northwest/West Open portion of the tripleheader with an 5-3 match play record and a 16-game total of 3,737 pins for a 49-pin victory over Blaine Weninger of Happy Valley, Ore. The win was Arizala’s first PBA50 Regional title and included a $1,500 first prize.
Haworth had a 6-2 match play record and knocked down 3,458 total pins for her 16 games to top non-PBA member Catherine Rawsthorne of Federal Way, Wash., for the win in the Jeanne Naccarato Women’s Open. She earned a $1,000 prize.
• Sammy Ventura of Norwich, N.Y. and Brett Cunningham of Clay, N.Y., defeated John Neral of Vienna, Va. and Matt Wozney of Clayton, Del., 505-421, 492-428 in the best-of-three-game title match of the PBA50/PBA Millsboro Lanes Doubles Sunday at Millsboro Lanes.
The win was the 11th career regional title for Ventura and his third of 2019. Cunningham, who bowled this event as a non-member, does not receive credit for a PBA Regional title. Ventura and Cunningham each earned $2,000.
In the best-of-three semifinal round, Ventura and Cunningham defeated Robert Boehm of Nutley, N.J. and Andrew Suscreba of Clifton, N.J., 2-1, while Neral and Wozney defeated Parker Bohn III of Jackson, N.J. and Kerry Smith of Lititz, Pa., 2-0.
• A week after winning his first PBA Regional title, Justin Knowles of Okemos, Mich. defeated Joe Bailey of Doylestown, Ohio, 248-174, to win the PBA EZ Bowl Central Open Sunday at EZ Bowl for his second title. Knowles, who earned $2,300 in Bluffton, Ind., won the PBA Sturgis/Storm Central/Midwest Open for his first title the previous Sunday in Sturgis, Mich.
Bailey defeated Kurt Pilon of Sterling Heights, Mich., 245-198, to advance to the championship match after Pilon downed Ric McCormick of Cincinnati, 234-189, in the first stepladder match.
• Nick Pate of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. defeated Brady Stearns of Saint Augusta, Minn., 229-193, to win the PBA Ten Pin Alley Midwest Open at Ten Pin Alley in Fitchburg, Wis., Saturday for his first PBA Regional title and the $2,000 first prize.
In the first match of the three-player stepladder finals, Stearns defeated Ryan Zagar of Racine Wis., 237-135, to advance to the title match.
• September’s busy calendar of PBA Regional events will conclude over the Sept. 27-29 weekend with the Bowlers Discount Pro Shop East Open presented by Radical at Terrace Lanes in Frederick, Md.; the PBA50 Mel Westrich Memorial Central/Midwest Open at Delphos Recreation in Delphos, Ohio; the PBA50 J&L Sports South Open at Paradise Lanes in Spartanburg, S.C.; the back-to-back PBA50 Junction City Bowl Southwest/Midwest Open I and II one-day events in Junction City, Kan.; and the 17th annual Double Decker Lanes West/Northwest Open presented by Roto Grip in Rohnert Park, Calif.
