Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) were flummoxed by the Rochester Red Wings in an 8-1 loss on a soggy Tuesday night at Frontier Field. The Red Wings (26-27) fanned 17 hitters while snapping a three-game losing skid to the RailRiders (32-23). The 17 strikeouts by Red Wings pitchers fell one shy of the SWB franchise record.

Nik Turley (1-2) set a new career-high with 15 strikeouts while scattering four hits over six scoreless innings. The southpaw outdueled Chance Adams (3-2), who had a one-hitter going into the sixth. The right-hander surrendered a three-run homer to Mitch Garver in the frame to put the Red Wings out front. Adams struck out seven, but yielded four walks and three hits over his six innings.

The Red Wings plated three more in the seventh and scored twice in the eighth. SWB avoided a shutout thanks to an RBI-single by Mason Williams in the ninth.

Tyler Wade finished 2-for-4 with a double to extend his hitting streak to six games. Tyler Austin reached twice on a ground-rule double in the fourth and a walk in the ninth.
