RailRiders Cruise to Fifth Straight Win
Dustin Fowler Launches
After tossing 29 pitches in a scoreless first inning, Brady Lail (4-2) settled in to fire 6.2 frames. He held the Chiefs to a run on four hits while walking two and striking out three. Greg Ross (2-6) was hit for four runs on nine hits over his 6.1 innings.
Dustin Fowler got the scoring started in the bottom of the first by smacking a one-out double to right. He quickly stole third and raced home on a throwing error by catcher Jhonatan Solano. Fowler continued his big night by walloping his 11th homer of the year off the roof of the Budweiser RailHouse in the fifth. The two-run shot scored Tyler Wade for a 4-1 advantage.
Jake Cave capped the scoring by slamming a two-run shot over the left-field fence in the eighth. It was his first long ball of the year with SWB. Donovan Solano also tallied three hits and drove in a second-inning run.
Wade finished 0-for-2, snapping his 18-game hitting streak. He reached twice on walks and stole his Triple-A best 20th bag of the year in the fifth.
