B-METS LOSE 11-3

B-Mets Strand 16 in 11-3 Loss
BINGHAMTON, NY- The Binghamton Mets went 1-for-11 with runners in scoring position and left a season-high 16 runners on base in an 11-3 loss to the Hartford Yard Goats, Tuesday night at NYSEG Stadium. MLB rehabber Jim Henderson pitched the sixth inning and allowed four runs on four hits. The B-Mets played as the road team in a game that was closed to the public.
Hartford struck first in the bottom of the second. After Ryan McMahon singled to lead it off, Noel Cuevas doubled on the first pitch he saw, scoring McMahon from first. Michael Benjamin later singled in Cuevas to make it 2-0.
Binghamton countered in the third when Phillip Evans jacked a solo home run to left. The B-Mets would go on to load the bases but stranded all three runners and the score remained 2-1.
The Yard Goats tacked on another in the third as Pat Valaika knocked in Rosell Herrera with a two-out double, pushing the score to 3-1.
Hartford did some more damage in the fifth.  Raimell Tapia had an RBI single, Valaika another RBI double and McMahon capped it with two-run homer deep to left, giving Hartford a 7-1 lead.
The B-Mets answered with another long ball in the sixth. Derrik Gibson launched a two-run homer to left-center, cutting the deficit to 7-3.
In bottom of the sixth, Hartford struck for four more against Henderson. The MLB rehabber allowed the first three men he faced to single then walked Herrera with the bases loaded to force in a run. McMahon later smacked a two-run double before Herrera scored on a wild pitch, making it 11-3.
Casey Delgado (4-5) surrendered seven runs on 11 hits over five innings and took the loss. Gibson went 3-for-5 with his second home run of the season and Evans was 2-for-5 with his third.
Henderson allowed four runs on four hits in his inning of relief and how has an ERA of 27.00 over two and 2/3 innings in three rehab appearances.

POSTGAME NOTES: Casey Delgado has now allowed 21 hits over 11 innings in two starts against Hartford…Binghamton recorded multiple home runs in a game for the fourth time in its past seven games…the B-Mets have lost back-to-back games for the first time since losing six-straight from June 17-23.
