RAILRIDERS WIN OVER BISONS

Mitchell Strong in Win over Bisons
McKinney Bashes Third Homer


Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) clipped the Buffalo Bisons in a 3-1 win on Wednesday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders (53-32) have won seven straight against their International League North rivals and four in a row overall. The Bisons (37-49) lost for the 26th time in their last 32 games.

Bryan Mitchell (2-2) hurled seven dominant frames, yielding a run on five hits. He struck out three and induced 12 groundouts. T.J. House (6-8) was left with the defeat after allowing three runs on four hits over six stanzas. Tyler Jones recorded the final six outs, including three strikeouts in the ninth, to earn his second save.

Mark Payton opened the scoring in the second inning when he shot a single through the right side that scored Billy McKinney from second.

After Buffalo knotted the game 1-1 in the top of the fourth, the RailRiders came back with a two-run home half. McKinney blasted his third homer with SWB on a liner out to right. The round-tripper drove in Mike Ford for a 3-1 lead.
