STUART PLAYER OF THE WEEK......

Stuart Named League Player of the Week
BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Rumble Ponies outfielder Champ Stuart has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week. In six games during the week (April 24-30), the Bahamas native hit .455 (10-for-22) with two doubles, a triple, two home runs, five RBI and five stolen bases. Stuart capped his stellar week with a game-tying homer in the ninth inning on Sunday.
Selected by the Mets in the 6th round in 2013, Stuart has excelled in his second season with Binghamton. He is batting .250 with a league-leading total of 11 stolen bases. The speedy outfielder matched a career-high with three stolen bases in one game against Akron on April 26. He has not been nabbed while attempting to steal in his last 17 tries, dating back to last season.
Stuart is the first Rumble Pony to receive weekly league honors this season.
He and the Rumble Ponies (11-9) open a three-game series at home against the Akron RubberDucks on Monday at 6:35 PM. The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pregame Show can be heard starting at 6:20 PM on NewsRadio 1290 AM WNBF and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies channel on TuneIn.
