SCRANTON YANKESS TO BE HONORED......

Yankees to Honor Triple-A National Champion RailRiders at Steinbrenner Field in Tampa
SWB Will Receive Their Championship Rings on March 24

Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) will receive their 2016 National Championship rings during a ceremony on March 24 as part of “RailRiders Day,” when the New York Yankees host the Philadelphia Phillies for a 1:05 p.m. spring tilt at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

In addition to the ring ceremony, highlights of the team’s memorable campaign will be shown on the Steinbrenner Field videoboard and both the Governors’ Cup and Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game trophies will be on display for fans to enjoy.

“We are excited to celebrate the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders 2016 Triple-A National Championship with a ring ceremony broadcast live on the YES network before the Yankees’ Spring Training game on March 24,” said RailRiders Co-Managing Owner David Abrams. “It is a great opportunity for our fans in Northeast Pennsylvania, as well as Yankees fans across the nation, to commemorate the birth of the ‘Baby Bombers.’”

RailRiders fans travelling to Tampa, Fla., for Spring Training can also celebrate the team’s championship at Marlow’s Tavern, the “Spring Training Home of the RailRiders.” Marlow’s is located at 13134 North Dale Mabry Highway. Fans can find out more about Marlow’s by visiting www.marlowstavern.com.

It is our pleasure to host the SWB RailRiders Championship celebration and welcome all baseball fans throughout the Spring Training season,” said Marlow’s owner John Metz Jr.  “Our partnership with the RailRiders makes Marlow’s Tavern a great place to eat during Spring Training and interact with past and future Yankees Legends, including many players on the current RailRiders roster.

The RailRiders will also celebrate their incredible run to the national title in front of their fans at PNC Field on June 2. The night will feature a special ring ceremony for RailRiders coaches, players and front office staff.  All season ticket holders and champion plan holders will also receive their very own replica ring.

“Our RailRiders ring presentation will be the highlight of a special evening for our players and staff,” said RailRiders President Josh Olerud. “Most importantly, this night honors our season ticket holders, whose support is at a championship level every time we take the field.”

The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders open their 2017 home schedule on Monday, April 10 against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies). For tickets and more information, please call 570-979-BALL (2255) or visit swbrailriders.com.
