RUMBLE PONIES ADD PASCUCCI TO STAFF

Pascucci Named to Rumble Ponies Field Staff
Binghamton, NY – The New York Mets have announced Val Pascucci will join the Binghamton Rumble Ponies field staff as hitting coach for the 2017 season. Pascucci rounds out a coaching staff that includes first-year manager Luis Rojas and pitching coach Glenn Abbott.
Luis Natera, Binghamton’s former hitting coach, has been added to the St. Lucie Mets (High-A) field staff to be closer to home.
This season marks Pascucci’s fourth as a coach in the Mets system. The California native spent two years with the Savannah Sand Gnats (Low-A) before coaching one season with St. Lucie.
Pascucci belted 305 home runs during a 15-year playing career that included one stint with the New York Mets in 2011. Selected by the Montreal Expos in the 15th round of the 1999 draft, Pascucci made his Major League debut with the team in 2004. The slugger appeared in the final game in Expos history on October 3, 2004 at Shea Stadium.
Pascucci enjoyed a two-season stint in Japan with Chiba Lotte that included a championship in 2005 under former Mets manager Bobby Valentine.
He returned to the States in 2010 and played parts of three seasons in the Mets organization. Pascucci launched 55 home runs with the Buffalo Bisons (AAA) during his time as a Mets farmhand. He worked his way into 10 games with the New York Mets in 2011.
Pascucci joined the coaching ranks after retiring as a player following the 2013 season.
The Rumble Ponies open the 2017 season on the road in New Hampshire on April 6 before celebrating their home opener at NYSEG Stadium on April 13 against Erie. Individual tickets for the 2017 season are on sale now.
