TONIGHT: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies begin a four-game series with the Erie Seawolves. This is part of eight straight games at NYSEG Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies fell to the Bowie Baysox 7-2 Sunday afternoon. The Baysox scored two in the top of third, and the Ponies answered on a Jason Krizan two-run double in the bottom of the frame. Bowie’s Cedric Mulluns broke the tie in the sixth with his first home run of the season. The Baysox then added two runs in each of the seventh and ninth innings. The Baysox outhit the Ponies 10-2. RHP Zach Lee suffered his first loss with Binghamton as he was charged with five runs on seven hits over six-plus innings of work.

KRIZAN REACHES 50 RBI: Jason Krizan belted a two-run double in the third inning Sunday to raise his RBI total to 50. He moved into second place on the team, six behind team-leader Patrick Mazeika.

PONIES EYE REVENGE: The last time these two clubs met, the SeaWolves swept the series, winning all three games in walk-off fashion. The two teams have split the first 12 games of the season series.

HOME COOKING: The Rumble Ponies are in the middle of an eight-game homestand. The Ponies are 3-1 in the first four games. In their three wins over the Bowie Baysox, the Rumble Ponies outscored the visitors 11-3.
  
STIFF COMPETITION: The Ponies are in a stretch where they play 12 straight games against division leaders. The stretch started with four games at Reading, who is leading the Eastern Division. The Rumble Ponies then welcome Bowie and Erie to NYSEG Stadium for four games against each club. They are tied for the lead in the Western Division at 28-10 entering today. The Ponies are 5-3 so far in this stretch,

GIMENEZ VS. ERIE: Andres Gimenez is hitting .432 (16-37) with four RBI, three doubles and two home runs in 11 games against the SeaWolves. Six of his team-high 20 stolen bases have come against Erie.

TOPS IN THE LEAGUE: The Rumble Ponies and the SeaWolves rank first and second in the EL in batting average. The Ponies lead the league and are hitting .249. The SeaWolves sit one point behind. Meanwhile, Erie boasts a 3.27 ERA, which is tied with Bowie for the best in the league.

AZOCAR PACES EL IN HITS: Jose Azocar leads the Eastern League in hits with 111 hits. His .294 average is tied for second best in the league, five points behind Portland’s C.J. Chatham.

COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies continue their four-game series with the SeaWolves with a doubleheader Wednesday. Game one gets underway at 5:35PM.
