MCNEIL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

McNeil Named League Player of the Week
BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton Rumble Ponies infielder Jeff McNeil has been named the Eastern League Player of the Week. From May 14 through May 20, the Ponies second baseman hit .389 (14-for-36), with five home runs, 13 RBI and a .833 slugging percentage. McNeil currently shares the league lead with 12 home runs this season.
Since April 30, McNeil is batting .383 with eight home runs and 25 RBI. He became the second Binghamton player to hit for the cycle, completing the feat on May 13 against the Portland Sea Dogs. McNeil also compiled a 17-game hitting streak, the longest by any Eastern Leaguer this season.
McNeil is the second Rumble Pony to take home a weekly league honor this season. Peter Alonso was recognized as Player of the Week in late April and was later honored as the Player of the Month.
The Rumble Ponies (22-20) return home to open a three-game series against the Richmond Flying Squirrels on Tuesday night at 6:35 PM. RHP Nabil Crismatt takes the mound against RHP Cory Taylor. The Horizons Federal Credit Union pregame show starts at 6:20 PM and can be heard on NewsRadio 1290 AM and the Binghamton Rumble Ponies channel on TuneIn.
