HERE & THERE COLUMN

Do You Have Food Storage For An Emergency?

What if an emergency takes place and your without anything to eat or drink.
Now your probably wondering where Ed is going with this line of questioning.
I've often read emails warning readers that a crisis could strike at any time and are we prepared by having an emergency food storage on hand.
This is a serious question when one realizes that our world is facing serious concerns and then again preparedness is also essential when it comes to winter storms, flooding, tornado's, fires, drought, economic situations, hurricane's, earthquakes and power failures.
And when I read an advertisement in a magazine that was promoting and selling an emergency food storage kit for a little over $1,000 per person for a year supply of food it hit me that this is a serious question and gets one thinking about what any emergency can do if we are not prepared.
Natural disasters are unavoidable and if we can rise above the calamities with proper planning and preparedness this is certainly good thinking.
Preparing for emergency situations and natural disasters may seem overwhelming.....but it doesn't need to be.
The internet provides a wealth of information on this topic with resources, a preparedness checklist, recipes, tools you need for survival, shelf life of food, how to order an emergency food storage kit, food storage packaging, prepping in an urban setting and overall disaster preparedness.
Think about it folks........remember we are living in the real world where anything can happen.
