the B-Mets’ ten-single effort with three triples and a pair of doubles to grab
the series opener.Austin Meadows led the charge for the Curve with two RBI triples. The outfielder put Altoona on the board by launching a run-producing three-bagger to center in the first. He struck again, and plated Anderson Feliz from first, by pulling his team-leading seventh triple of the season into the right-field alley in the third.
Binghamton packed half their hits into the second inning. With two outs and two aboard, LJ Mazzilli laced an RBI single into center. Derrik Gibson pushed the B-Mets ahead, and extended his hitting streak to eight games, by pulling a two-run single into left.
In the third, Meadows erased the lead with his second triple and Jose Osuna put the Curve ahead for good with a sacrifice fly to center.
Trailing by two in the seventh, the B-Mets made one last push against Curve reliever Jhondaniel Medina. Phillip Evans pulled the B-Mets within a run by sending an RBI single to right, but was picked off first base as the trailing runner by catcher Reese McGuire to throw a wrench into the rally.
