BOWLING KNOWLEDGE, ACTION TO BE
ON DISPLAY AT USBC CONVENTION
About 1,500 delegates from around the country will descend on the
Biggest Little City in the World (Reno, Nev.) April 29-May 2 for the 2009 United States Bowling Congress Convention.
By day April 29-30, they'll learn the latest and future on the organization and sport during workshops and exhibits at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and by night they'll get to watch two major televised bowling events at the Reno Events Center - the USBC Queens on April 29 and Bowling's Clash of Champions, a USBC event on April 30.
Then on May 1-2, they'll attend the Annual Meeting at the Reno Events Center. The first day they will hear messages from President Jeff Boje and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Dornberger among others, help honor nine special award winners, watch as six people are inducted into the USBC Hall of Fame and attend the annual Susan G. Komen Meet for the Cure(tm) event.
"We will be talking about all of the new programs and initiatives and how they will play an instrumental part of helping grow bowling as a sport," Dornberger said. "We'll also discuss how the associations will help us on that path."
On May 2, delegates will vote on 24 proposals involving changes to USBC Bylaws and league rules and elect four people to the USBC Board of Directors.
"Besides providing information on the future we want to use this Convention to help form relationships between all levels of the organization," Dornberger said. "The best way to do that is to talk face-to-face in Reno so everybody understands where the others are coming from."
