 Chi Chi Rodriguez At Golf Show Jan.17-19


                                     



    Chi Chi Rodriguez is known as one of the greatest showmen in sports history and one of the most recognizable faces in professional golf and area golfers will have the opportunity to meet him at the Saturday January 18 North Coast Golf Show at the 17th Annual New Jersey Golf Show held in the Garden State Exhibit Center, 50 Atrium Drive, Somerset, NJ. 
  The show, which runs from Friday January 17 through Sunday January 19 is staged by the North Coast Golf Shows and has become a great mid-winter break for many New York and Tri-County area golfers and in years past is a showcase for several area golf facilities.    Chi Chi brings to  the show a highly respected career that includes 38 professional wins including 22 Champions Tour victories. He was the first Puerto Rican to be inducted in the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1992. 
   His passion for assisting youngsters led him to create The Chi Chi Roddriguez Youth Foundation  and spends countless hours devoted to "Chi Chi's kids" and is also very active in the golf community throughout Puerto Rico .
  He currently resides in Dorado, Puerto Rico and serves as the Ambassador for the PGA Tour's Puerto Rico Open. He no longer plays competively but takes parst in many corporate outings throughout the United States and Puerto Rico each year. 
  Other special guest at this weekend's show includes Michael Breed, director of instruction at the Michael Breed Golf Academy located at the Manhattan Woods Golf Club in West Nyack, NY and The Putting Doctor Joseph Bermel Jr. who contributes putting tips in our Golfing Highlights Column.
  This show is tabbed as a consumer golf exposition, in a three-day "Golf Theme Park"  that features a wide array of displays, demonstrations and interactive activities designed to educate and entertain the golf enthusiast.  
    Upwards of 200 booths with exhibitors from across the country are expected to attend  and will offer for sale the latest in golf equipment  and accessories as well as golf apparel, artwork, real estate, destination packages and much, much more.
    Numerous participatory activities will also be available for golfers of all skill levels. There will be a long-drive championship, the manufacturers demo range, long putt championship and free lessons from local PGA Professionals. The demo range is where you can swing, hit and compare the latest clubs. 
  The hours for the show are Friday 1-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $10 adults and free to children under 12.
