New Record Set At Tri-Valley

NEW SCHOOL RECORD SET AT TRI-VALLEY

Tri-Valley point-guard Katlynn Greffrath took the Wednesday night game between the Bears and Tuxedo into her own hands as she poured in 26-points with seven three-pointers which set a new school record.
Tuxedo took a first quarter lead of 9-8  but Tri-Valley broke the game open in the second quarter by outscoring Tuxedo 20-4. The visitors outscored the Bears 10-9 in the third quarter but Tri-Valley put 16 points on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter compared to 12 for Tuxedo.
The score by quarters was 9-8 Tuxedo, at the half Tri-Valley 28-Tuxedo 13, third quarter Tri-Valley 37-Tuxedo 23 and the final 53-35.
Good defense and being able to break a Tuxedo press helped put the game in the win column for the Bears.
Sabrina Smith and Nicole Bradley scored 7-points each for Tri-Valley.
Kayla Pinkney added 17 points for Tuxedo.
Katlynn hit her first three-point score in the first quarter, added two three-pointers in the second quarter and finished with four three-pointers in the fourth quarter.
The previous Tri-Valley girls varsity three-point record had been held by Amanda Krom who sank six three-pointers during the 2004 season.
Outstanding rebounding by Tri-Valley's Mareena DiMilia with 16 and Nicole Bradley with 12 proved to be an important part of the game for the Bears.
The win pushed the Bears overall record to 6-3 and 2-1 in their OCIAA division.
