The Bears outscored Chapel Field 18-8 in the fourth quarter.
Playing without their leading scorer, senior forward Brennan Healy, who injured his left ankle Tuesday night in the Bears loss to Liberty, Tri-Valley's offensive attack was picked up by Chase Botsford with 12 and Brauke Hunt with 10.
Healy will not be available to compete in the sectionals which will find the Bears traveling to S.S. Seward next week.
Tri-Valley used good offense and defense in the first quarter to outscore Chapel Field 14-7 getting two treys for six points off Chase Botsford, two two-pointers for four points by Patrick Coombe and two deuces for four points by Dustin Rogers.
The hot-handed scoring pace by the Bears continued in the second quarter outscoring the Liona 17-9.
The third quarter offensive play went to Chapel Field behind the torrid scoring of senior point-guard  Jeremy Torres who ripped the cords for two treys and four deuces for 14 points while the defense held Tri-Valley to 7 points.
At the 3:36 mark of the third quarter Chapel Field had chopped down Tri-Valley's lead to two-points, 32-30 but a trey by Tryler Rider and a deuce by Kalic Perry  pushed the Tri-Valley lead to 38-33 as the third quarter ended.
An 18-8 scoring edge in the fourth quarter and the final winning score of 56-41 gives the Bears an  overall 12-7 record going into sectionals.
Chapel Field lost its chance to get into the sectionals with a two-point loss to Roscoe earlier this week and finished their season with a 4-12 record. The school is a private inter-denominational Christian School, a ministry of Affirmative Evangelism Inc. and has been rated one of the 50 best Christian High Schools in  America. They compete in in the OCIAA D division Section IX.
Leading scorers for Tri-Valley were Chase Botsford with 12 points off four treys, Brauke Hunt with 10 points two deuces and six foul shots and nine points each by Kalic Perry and Tyler Ryder. Perry had four two-pointers and one foul shot while Ryder shot three deuces and one trey.

  Tri-Valley committed 19 turnovers to Chapel Field's 19.
Tri-Valley coach Kevin Delaney in post game remarks noted that Chapel Field "made a run for it in the third quarter and got back into the game so we had to get back to playing defense."
"We got a little happy with the first half lead but got back into it in the fourth quarter and all the seniors got to play," Delaney said.
Chapel Field coach Bill Spanjer Jr. pointed out that his team did a good job battling back, "but then made some bad choices by not hustling back and gave up some easy transition points and Tri-Valley played hard and just out worked us."

Tri-Valley Senior forward Patrick Coombe (35) scores a two-point layup while Chapel Field's Tom Liu waits for an possible rebound in the Bears 56-41 win over the Lions at Senior Night Wednesday in Grahamsville.
