Judge’s Sacrifice Fly Lifts SWB to Sunday Victory
Rob Refsnyder Extends Hitting Streak to Eight
Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) outdueled the Syracuse Chiefs for a 2-1 win on Sunday afternoon
at PNC Field. The RailRiders (7-3) took three-of-four from the Chiefs (5-4) in the weekend set.
Tyler
Webb (1-0) got the final out of the eighth and was the beneficiary of
Aaron Judge’s game-deciding sacrifice fly for the win. Nick Goody earned
his first save by
working around a hit to pitch a scoreless ninth. Trevor Gott (2-1)
shouldered the loss, allowing one run on one hit and two walks.
With
the game tied 1-1 in the eighth, Lane Adams sparked the RailRiders’
rally with a leadoff single. After Pete Kozma used a sacrifice bunt to
move Adams to second,
Jonathan Diaz and Ben Gamel worked consecutive walks to load the bases.
Judge launched an 0-2 pitch into right, plating Adams for the deciding
run.
Rob
Refsnyder opened the scoring for SWB in the first inning, plating Judge
on a single to right. The Chiefs knotted the score at one apiece in the
seventh against Luis
Cessa. Brian Goodwin tripled down the right field line to begin the
inning and trotted home on a double to left by Pedro Severino.
SWB
starter Chad Green dealt six scoreless innings, but left with a no
decision. The right-hander worked around six hits and one walk. He
struck out five.
