Judge Homers as RailRiders Blank Bisons
Aaron Judge Tallies Four RBI in the Victory
Moosic, Pa. –
The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) received a strong
performance by the pitching staff and a big
night at the plate for Aaron Judge as they shutout the Buffalo Bisons
7-0. The win improves SWB to 8-4 while the Bisons slip to 5-8.
Tyler
Cloyd (1-0) became the first SWB starter to pitch into the seventh
inning, scattering four hits across 6.2 scoreless innings. He walked one
and struck out four.
Scott Diamond (2-1) shouldered his first loss of the season, getting
hit for six runs, five earned, on five hits over 4.2 innings.
Judge
broke the seal on the game’s scoring in the third inning. Chris
Parmelee opened the frame with a single and Ben Gamel worked a one-out
walk to bring up Judge.
The RailRiders’ right fielder launched an 0-1 pitch onto the pedestrian
bridge for a three-run homer. It was his second round-tripper of the
year.
Judge
added a sacrifice fly as part of a three-run fifth inning for his
fourth RBI. He finished one off his career high. Two Bisons errors and a
ball lost in the lights
aided the RailRiders in the frame. Gary Sanchez raced around the bags
to earn his first triple since 2012 when Dalton Pompey lost the ball in
center field and Rob Refnsyder scored for a 6-0 advantage.
Slade
Heathcott made it a collective cycle for the RailRiders curling a
double to left. He came home from third when Sanchez reached on a
fielding error by second baseman
David Adams to cap the scoring.
Conor Mullee finished the game for SWB. He allowed one hit and struck out three in his 2.1 innings of work.
The RailRiders series against
Buffalo (Toronto Blue Jays) continues with on Wednesday night at PNC
Field. Right-hander Anthony Swarzak (0-1, 5.63) opposes Bisons southpaw
Wade LeBlanc
