Judge’s Four Knocks Highlight Hit Parade
SWB Dominance at Pawtucket Continues
Pawtucket, R.I. – Aaron Judge
had four hits and a pair of crooked numbers carried the SWB
RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) to a 9-1 drubbing of the
Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox) on Tuesday night. The RailRiders have
won 14 of 17 at McCoy Stadium.
All nine men in Al Pedrique’s lineup came to the plate in a three-run first against starter Roenis Elias.
Donovan Solano’s sac fly plated one of the runs, while a fielder’s choice/throwing error and passed ball aided the other two.
While Pawtucket
(2-4) responded with a run in the bottom of the inning on a Sam Travis
RBI single, SWB (3-2) hung a five-spot on the board in the fourth inning
to cement victory. Ten men came to the dish in
the gaudy frame with run-scoring hits from Gary Sanchez, Rob Refsnyder,
Chris Parmelee and Jonathan Diaz.
Reliever Conor Mullee (1-0)
retired all 10 men he faced with six strikeouts for the win. Elias
(0-1) surrendered five runs (two earned) on seven hits and four walks
over 3.2 innings for the loss.
The three-game series concludes at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon. SWB right-hander
Kyle Haynes (0-0, 3.60) will face southpaw Henry Owens (1-0, 0.00).
The
team returns home for an eight-game homestand starting on Thursday,
April 14 with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch against the Syracuse Chiefs
(Washington Nationals). The Thirsty Thursday
will feature $1 Bud Lights and Pepsi products. And each Thursday
college students can get a $5 lawn walk-up ticket with their college ID.
