SWB Falls in First Road Game
RailRiders Have Lost 16 of 22 at Rochester
Rochester, N.Y.
– The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) lost their first road
game of the season, a 4-1 final against the Rochester Red Wings
(Minnesota Twins) at Frontier Field on Sunday afternoon.
The RailRiders fell to 1-2 while Rochester improved to 2-1. SWB has
lost 16 of its last 22 at Frontier Field.
Gary Sanchez gave SWB a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a double to left field that scored
Slade Heathcott. It was the RailRiders’ only extra-base hit of the game.
Rochester responded with a three-spot in the third. Buck Britton delivered the big blow with a two-run single.
SWB had a chance in the ninth. With two on and two out, Heathcott went down looking against Alex Meyer.
Jose Berrios (1-0) struck out nine while logging the win.
Anthony Swarzak (0-1) took the loss. Meyer posted the save.
The RailRiders’
road trip continues with the first of three against the Pawtucket Red
Sox (Boston Red Sox) at McCoy Stadium on Monday at 6:15 p.m. Southpaw
Tyler Olson makes his SWB debut against fellow lefty Brian Johnson.
The
team returns home for an eight-game homestand starting on Thursday,
April 14 with a 6:35 p.m. first pitch against the Syracuse Chiefs
(Washington Nationals). The Thirsty Thursday
will feature $1 Bud Lights and Pepsi products. And each Thursday
college students can get a $5 lawn walk-up ticket with their college ID.
