Rochester Snaps ‘Riders Win Streak
Chance Adams Fires Seven Innings, Allows Two Runs


Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) fell 2-1 to the Rochester Red Wings on Friday night at PNC Field, snapping a six-game winning streak for the club. The RailRiders (22-17) lost at home for the first time in eight games as the Red Wings improved to 19-17 overall.

Chance Adams (1-1) held the Red Wings to a run on four hits across seven innings. The right-hander struck out five without allowing a walk. Aaron Slegers (4-3) tossed 8.1 frames and allowed a run on five hits for the win. He walked one and struck out two. Drew Rucinski retired the final two batters to notch his first save of the year with Rochester.

Dustin Fowler finished 2-for-4 with a double in the ninth and scored on a single by Mike Ford. Rob Refsnyder finished 0-for-4, ending his 18-game hitting streak.

The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders continue their weekend series with the Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota Twins) at 4:05 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, inside PNC Field. Left-hander Caleb Smith (2-0, 2.88) gets the nod for SWB against right-hander Nick Tepesch (1-2, 2.29). The first 2,500 fans through the gates on Saturday will receive a RailRiders “5th anniversary” cap, presented by PNC Bank.
