Wade & Co. Rout Chiefs
Refsnyder Stretches Hitting Streak to 15 Games
Syracuse, N.Y.
– The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) crushed the host
Syracuse Chiefs (Washington Nationals) on Saturday afternoon, 12-3. The
RailRiders (17-16) posted a season-best 17 hits while the Chiefs (12-19)
lost for the 12th time in 16 games.
Solo homers by Dustin Fowler and Ji-Man Choi
made it 2-0 RailRiders in the first inning. SWB then batted around to
plate five runs and chase Syracuse starter Greg Ross (1-3) in the
second. Two-run doubles by Tyler Wade and Rob Refsnyder highlighted the big inning. Mason Williams delivered a two-run bases-loaded single in the fourth and Cito Culver followed with a run-scoring knock in the fourth.
SWB starter Daniel Camarena (4-1)
did not allow a hit through four innings. He would finish with two runs
on three hits, two walks and five strikeouts over his five innings.
Refsnyder extended
the league’s best active hitting streak to 15 games with a 3-for-4 day.
Wade, who connected on his first Triple-A homer in the fifth, entered
the ninth a triple shy of the cycle. Facing Syracuse position player
Brandon Snyder in his pro pitching debut, Wade settled for a single that
frame and a four-hit day.
