Frazier Homers, RailRiders Roll in Toledo

Toledo, Ohio
– The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) doubled up the host
Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit Tigers) on Friday night, 4-2. The RailRiders
(26-18) have won 10 of their last 12. The Mud Hens (21-25) have lost
eight of nine.
Clint Frazier
gave the RailRiders a 1-0 lead in the second with a towering home run
off the left-field video board, his team-leading ninth homer of the
year. Frazier has homered in three straight games.
Toledo claimed a 2-1 lead on Efren Navarro’s two-run double off the left-field wall in the third off starter Chance Adams (2-1).
SWB sent eight to the plate and scored a pair in the sixth to take a 3-2 advantage. Ji-Man Choi and Mason Williams
delivered run-scoring singles and Toledo starter William Cuevas (2-4)
failed to get out of the inning. Cuevas tied a career-high mark with 10
strikeouts over his 5.1 innings.
Gleyber Torres singled home a run in the seventh to round out the scoring.
Relievers Tyler Webb, Ben Heller and Ernesto Frieri composed a combined four scoreless innings. Frieri secured his team-best fifth save.
The four-game series continues at 7:05 p.m. on Saturday night. SWB’s Caleb Smith (2-0, 3.15) is expected to face fellow southpaw Matt Crouse who will be called up from Double-A Erie. The RailRiders
return home on Tuesday, May 30 to host the Columbus Clippers (Cleveland
