RailRiders Release 2017 Schedule
SWB Opens Season at Buffalo on Thursday, April 6
Moosic, Pa. – The SWB
RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are excited to unveil the
schedule for their 2017 campaign. The campaign begins on Thursday, April
6 with a four-game series against the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue
Jays) on the road. Celebrating the fifth year of PNC Field, SWB kicks
off their home schedule on Monday, April 10 when they host the Lehigh
Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies).
“Although we are still in the 2016 season, and in the heart of a playoff
race, we have put an enormous amount of time into planning for the 2017
season,” said RailRiders COO Josh Olerud. “We are enjoying a fantastic
campaign this year and we have lots of great feedback from our fans to
build off of. We have a couple of surprises to unveil in the off-season
we believe will make 2017 even greater.”
Standard start times for the 2016 season include 6:35 p.m. for games
Monday through Thursday and 7:05 p.m. for Friday games in April and May.
The first four Saturday games will start at 4:05 p.m. with the
remaining Saturday contests getting underway at 7:05 p.m. In June, July
and August standard start times are 7:05 p.m. for Monday through Friday
games. All of the Sunday home games at PNC Field in 2016 will start at
1:05 p.m.
Fans will get plenty of opportunities to watch the RailRiders take on
their division rivals. SWB will face the Lehigh Valley IronPigs
(Philadelphia Phillies) in year five of the IronRail Series a total of
18 times with seven of those contests scheduled for play at PNC Field.
The RailRiders will play a total of 18 games against the Pawtucket Red
Sox (Boston Red Sox) with 11 of those games coming at PNC Field.
SWB will host the Bisons on Independence Day in 2016. The Triple-A
All-Star break will be July 10-12 with the Pacific Coast League’s Tacoma
Rainiers (Seattle Mariners) hosting the event. The champions of the
International League and PCL will meet at PNC Field in the Gildan
Triple-A National Championship Game in September 2017.
2017 season tickets are now on sale. The RailRiders will release the
full promotional calendar with giveaway dates, theme nights and more at a
later date. Part of that docket will include the annual “Legends
Series.”
The
RailRiders return ton PNC Field on Monday night for a doubleheader
against the Norfolk Tides. First pitch for game one is scheduled for
5:05 p.m. Every Monday home game a PNC Field is Dollar Dog Night with $1
walk-up lawn seats, hot dogs and dogs are allowed into the park for $1.
