SWB Unveils Teams for RailRiders Bowl III at PNC Field
Old Forge and Lakeland Have Two-Year Verbal Agreement
Moosic, Pa. –
The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) are excited to announce
the match-up for this year’s “RailRiders Bowl III.” The Old Forge Blue
Devils and the Lakeland Chiefs have a two-year, verbal agreement to play
at PNC Field.
“We are extremely excited to showcase Old Forge and Lakeland in our annual Fall Classic,” said RailRiders general manager Jeremy Ruby.
“High school football under the lights at PNC Field will create
life-long memories for players, coaches and all of their supporters.”
The first meeting
in the two-year agreement will take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct.
15. Old Forge will be the home team in the 2016 tilt, while Lakeland
will sport the home colors in 2017.
The inaugural
RailRiders Bowl in 2014 saw the Abington Heights Comets defeat Valley
View 26-15. The Cougars took last year’s bowl, a 14-13 thriller.
At
56-35, the RailRIders own the best record in Triple-A and sit atop the
International League’s North Division by four games. SWB returns home to
host the Durham Bulls for four games, July 21-24, and the Buffalo
