RailRiders Post Second Straight Shutout
Brady Lail Fires Seven Scoreless Frames
Moosic, Pa.
– The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) completed a
three-game sweep by holding the Buffalo Bisons scoreless for a second
straight game. The RailRiders’ 6-0 triumph on Wednesday afternoon at PNC
Field was their franchise record-setting 17th shutout of the season.
The RailRiders (67-38) have won six straight overall and 10-of-11
against the BIsons (52-53).
Brady Lail
(4-2) spun his best Triple-A start by blanking the Bisons on three hits
over seven innings. The right-hander needed only 72 pitches. He walked
one and struck out six. Casey Lawrence (2-3) shouldered the loss after
allowing five runs, two earned, and eight hits across 5.2 innings.
Ben Gamel opened
the scoring in the third with a two-run double just fair of the right
field chalk. A two-run throwing error by Bisons first baseman Matt
Dominguez in the sixth pushed the lead to 4-0. Jose Rosario launched a sacrifice fly to center, plating the third run of the frame for a 5-0 advantage.
The RailRiders final tally came on the 12th home run of the season by Tyler Austin in the eighth.
The RailRiders hit the road on Friday for three-game series against the Pawtucket Red Sox at McCoy Stadium. Left-hander Dietrich Enns
(4-1, 1.51) is expected to start against left-hander Brian Johnson
(2-4, 5.25). The RailRiders return home Friday, August 5, against the
