BUFFALO, NY (July 3, 2018) –
The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders doubled up the Buffalo Bisons 6-3 at Coca-Cola Field Tuesday night.
 
The Bisons took the lead against the RailRiders and start Luis Cessa in the bottom of the first. Anthony Alford singled and stole second.  The throw to second bounced into center and was misplayed, allowing Alford to score on a pair of errors.
 
In the top of the second with Ryan McBroom on base, Rey Navarro lined the first pitch he saw from Jon Harris over the right field wall for a 2-1 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre lead.
 
The RailRiders added a run on a walk and two singles in the fourth inning with L.J. Mazzilli driving in Navarro.  In the fifth inning, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre connected for three consecutive singles with Bruce Caldwell plating Billy McKinney for a 4-1 advantage.
 
Buffalo scored twice in the home half of the sixth inning off Cessa.  Rowdy Tellez singled in Tim Lopes and Roemon Fields scored on a fielder’s choice to cut the RailRiders lead to one.
 
In the seventh with two outs and the bases loaded, Navarro singled to right to drive in two runs, pushing the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre back to three runs at 6-3.
 
Cessa (1-0) worked six innings on 78 pitches, striking out three and walking one.  The right-hander retired 10 straight between the second and the end of the fifth.  J.P. Feyereisen pitched a scoreless seventh with two strikeouts for his second hold and Raynel Espinal pitched the eighth and ninth, striking out four, for his first save of 2018.
 
Harris (1-1) allowed four runs on ten hits over six innings in the loss.
 
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre collected 13 hits, including three apiece from McKinney, McBroom and Navarro.  Navarro led all players with a game-high four runs batted in.
 
The RailRiders and Bisons resume the series on July 4 at PNC Field in Moosic, PA, at 7:05 p.m.  New York Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka will make a rehab start for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre against Buffalo southpaw Matt Tracy (no record).  Wednesday’s post-game fireworks are presented by the PA Lottery.
