PONIES SWEPT BY YARD GOATS

Ponies Swept by Yard Goats in Extra Inning Loss
BINGHAMTON, NY – Ryan Metzler’s 11th-inning walk-off single pushed the Yard Goats past the Rumble Ponies, 4-3, Sunday at Dunkin Donuts Park. The loss extends Binghamton’s losing streak to a season-high six games and drops them to .500 at 34-34. Its Binghamton’s second extra-inning loss in five tries. 
Mylz Jones began the bottom of the 11thinning on second base and was moved to third on Nelson Molina’s groundout. Ryan Metzler then took Tyler Bashlor’s pitch and sent it off the right-field wall, plating Jones for the walk-off win.
Hartford scored the game’s first two runs in the second inning against Mickey Jannis, marking the fifth straight game Binghamton’s opponent scored first. After singles by Jones and Molina kickstarted the rally, Rumble Ponies second baseman Josh Allen booted a groundball off the bat of Wes Rogers, allowing Jones to score for a 1-0 lead. Chris Rabago followed with a single to score Molina, earning Hartford a 2-0 advantage.
Binghamton responded quickly in the next half inning when Jhoan Urena bashed his fourth home run of the season over the left field fence. The two-run shot was set up by Kevin Taylor, who led off the inning with a single. 
The teams remained deadlocked at 2-2, until the Rumble Ponies scratched one run across in the seventh inning. Tim Tebow’s pinch-hit ground-rule double was followed by a Champ Stuart walk. After Levi Michael bunted the two into scoring position, Kevin Taylor delivered a sacrifice fly to give Binghamton their first lead of the series, 3-2. 
The Yard Goats punched back in the next half inning to tie the game. Brendan Rodgers’ second double of the game pushed home Scott Burcham, making it 3-3.
Rumble Ponies Starter Mickey Jannis went six innings and allowed just one earned run. He struck out six and walked one in his second start at Dunkin Donuts Park this season.
Yard Goats starter Jack Wynkoop also lasted six innings, allowing two earned runs on eight hits. He whiffed three and walked none. 
Sean Nolin (2-2) earned the win for pitching a scoreless top of the 11th.
Bashlor (0-3) pitched a scoreless 10th inning before giving up the game-winning hit.
