Domingo German Fires Quality Start for Fourth Win

Moosic, Pa. – The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) rolled to their 12th win in 17 tries against the Pawtucket Red Sox on Saturday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders (71-41) claimed a 3-1 victory for the second straight night and sent the Red Sox (54-58) to their seventh straight loss.

Domingo German (4-1) allowed a run on three hits and two walks early, but settled down to toss six innings. He finished his night by retiring 11 consecutive hitters. The combined efforts of J.P. Feyereisen and Giovanny Gallegos held the PawSox without a base runner until the ninth. Gallegos worked around a single by Sam Travis in the final frame, getting a timely 6-4-3 double play, to notch his fourth save.

The RailRiders got to reliever Chandler Shepherd (0-4) for the deciding runs. Aaron Hicks began the sixth with a single and later scored from second on a single to right by Donovan Solano for a 2-1 lead. Hicks then blasted a run-scoring triple to right-center in the seventh, plating Jonathan Diaz, for the final margin.

Trailing 1-0 in the fifth, Billy McKinney launched a towering home run onto the roof of the RailHouse beyond right to tie the score. The shot was his seventh at Triple-A.

-- Tyler Austin played seven innings at first base as scheduled. He finished 0-for-3 with a line out to second. Austin has gone 1-for-9 with a homer on the rehab assignment.

-- Playing in his third game on his rehab stint, Aaron Hicks went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. He is 4-for-13 with a double, triple, RBI, and two runs scored overall.

-- Jake Cave ended the night 0-for-4, severing his 19-game hitting streak. He finished hitless for the first time in 25 games at PNC Field.

-- Miguel Andujar was 0-for-4, snapping his 17-game run with a hit.
