RailRiders Falter Against Bisons
Dietrich Enns Fires Five Scoreless Frames in Second Start
Moosic, Pa. –
The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) dropped their series
opener against the Buffalo Bisons 2-1 on Friday night at PNC Field. The
Bisons improved to an IL North Division-best 6-2 on the young season as
the RailRiders slid to 3-5.
Dietrich Enns
fired five scoreless innings in his second start of the season. The
RailRiders’ southpaw yielded two hits, a walk and struck out four.
Buffalo capitalized on a couple of miscues to score the deciding runs. A two-out wild pitch by Tyler Jones allowed Christian Lopes to score the tying run in the sixth. With two away in the seventh, the Bisons loaded the bases against Ben Heller (0-2) and forced home the winning run when Ty Kelly was hit by an inside pitch.
Ruben Tejada’s two-hit
performance included a run-producing double in the second inning for
the RailRiders’ only tally. The third baseman roped a double inside
third that scored Mark Payton from first base.
The
2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders continue their series
