MONDAY ON FS1: PBA Playoffs Round of 16 Continues with Anthony Simonsen vs. Rhino Page, EJ Tackett vs. Andres Gomez Matchups at 9 p.m. ET   

PORTLAND, Maine (April 26, 2019) – Two more PBA Playoffs Round of 8 berths will be filled when Anthony Simonsen of Little Elm, Texas meets Rhino Page of Orlando, and EJ Tackett of Bluffton, Indiana, battles Colombia’s Andres Gomez in Round of 16 Race to 2 Points matches that will air on FS1 Monday at 9 p.m. ET from Bayside Bowl.

Australia’s Jason Belmonte and Kris Prather of Plainfield, Illinois, advanced to the Round of 8 by winning their Round of 16 matches which aired on FS1 April 22.

For the Race to 2 Points format each game won in the match is worth one point. If the players split the first two games, a 9th and 10th frame tie-breaker is used to award the deciding point.

After Round of 8 competition, the top four players will return to Bayside Bowl June 1-2 for the live semifinal and championship rounds on FOX at noon ET. The Playoffs winner will earn $100,000. 

The Playoffs field started with 24 players who earned berths by finishing in the top 24 in points after the first 13 Go Bowling! PBA Tour tournaments of the season.

Earlier this season, the 22-year-old Simonsen became the youngest player to win two PBA major titles with his win in the PBA Players Championship. Page, a six-time tour winner, has four top-five finishes this season.

Tackett, the 2016 PBA Player of the Year, has three telecast appearances this season with a second-place finish in the PBA Tournament of Champions.  Gomez has a season-best finish of second in the Chameleon Championship.

Round of 16 action continues on FS1 with two matches each on May 6 and May 13 at 9 p.m. ET. Those two telecasts will complete the Round of 8 field. Two Round of 8 telecasts onMay 20 and 27 will reduce the field to the final four survivors.
