PBA Tour Finals Action on CBS Sports Network Continues Tuesday, May 29

With Second Positioning Round at 8 p.m. ET

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (May 24, 2018) – PBA Tour Finals action, featuring eight of the Go Bowling! PBA Tour’s top performers over the past 28 months, continues on a new set of PBA lane conditions Tuesday, May 29 at 8 p.m. ET on the CBS Sports Network, with the second total-pinfall positioning round from Thunderbowl Lanes.

The eight PBA Tour top money earners from 2016, 2017 and the first four months of 2018, include defending PBA Tour Finals champion EJ Tackett, 2017 PBA Tour finals runner-up Jason Belmonte, Dom Barrett, Anthony Simonsen, Sean Rash, Jesper Svensson, Marshall Kent and Tommy Jones, who will navigate two new PBA lane conditions in the second round — the 39-foot Don Carter and 45-foot Dick Weber conditions.

Tuesday’s telecast will open with Group 2 players (Tackett, Svensson, Kent and Jones) and Group 1 players (Belmonte, Barrett, Simonsen and Rash) bowling on the Carter lane condition. Competition continues with both groups bowling the final positioning game on the Weber condition.

Heading into the second round, Belmonte leads Group 1 with a 491 two-game pinfall bowled on the Petraglia and Roth conditions followed by Simonsen, 483; Rash, 379 and Barrett 350. Group 2 is led by Kent, 458; Tackett, 448; Svensson, 447, and Jones, 419. 

After Tuesday’s second positioning round the four-game scratch totals for each player will be used to determine the qualifying positions for the stepladder semifinals within each group. The positioning round leader of each group in the positioning round will have the choice of lane condition for the semifinals.

The Group 1 semifinal stepladder will air on CBSSN June 5 at 8 p.m. ET and the Group 2 stepladder will air on June 12 also at 8 p.m. The final match of each group’s stepladder will be a best of two-game match with ties broken by a 9th and 10th frame roll off, if necessary. The two group winners will then meet in another best-of-two-game championship match which will air June 19 at 8 p.m.
