Triple-A’s Main Event to Feature Pregame Fan Fest, Sky Divers, Zip Lines and More

Moosic, Pa. - The defending National Champion SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) are excited to announce many of the festivities planned for the 2017 Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game! The main event pits the champions of the International League against the winner of Pacific Coast League and will be held at PNC Field on September 19. PNC Field and the title contenders will take center stage for a national television audience on the NBC Sports Network.

“The SWB RailRiders are extremely excited to host the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game and for our loyal fans to enjoy a night at PNC Field that they will truly remember,” RailRiders President/COO Josh Olerud said. “From the Fan Fest, live music, sky divers, in-stadium zip line and postgame fireworks, it is truly going to be an event that NEPA has never seen before!”

Gildan, maker of high quality active wear, underwear, and socks, has been the proud title sponsor of the Triple-A National Championship Game since 2012. The RailRiders are proud to have Mohegan Sun Pocono serve as the official headquarters and host hotel for the championship game hosting MiLB teams and executives from all across baseball. Novel T’s will serve as the official hospitality hosts for the Championship Game. The RailRiders are also excited to partner with the Wilkes-Barre-Scranton International Airport as the official airport and travel center of the MiLB teams and executives. WBS Airport will also present the Fastrax skydiving team that will be sure to awe fans with a performance prior to the game.

Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson and two-time National League All-Star Andy Ashby will be in the house as championship game ambassadors.

Fans will get a fantastic tailgate experience at the Dunkin’ Donuts Fan Fest. The pre-game event will be located in the parking lot and features a Dunkin’ mobile coffee lab and a street team with free samples of all your Dunkin’ favorites. The Fan Fest will include live music, food trucks and a kids’ zone and will run from 4 – 7 PM. 

The first 5,000 fans through the gates will be given a rally towel, presented by Pepsi, when they visit the Coordinated Health Plaza. The night will conclude with a championship celebration, trophy presentation and huge fireworks extravaganza, brought to you by FunWall.

The RailRiders will partner with Stand Up to Cancer for the event. SU2C is a groundbreaking initiative created to accelerate innovative cancer research that will get new therapies to patients quickly and save lives now. More details will be announced at a later date.

The 2016 Gildan Triple-A National Champion RailRiders continue their home series with the Charlotte Knights (Chicago White Sox) on Friday, July 21 at 7:05 p.m. Right-handerChance Adams (6-3, 2.45) will face right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (6-5, 3.78). Every Friday home game is “Glow in the Park Night” at PNC Field. This Friday’s tilt with the Knights also features Princess and Pirates Night, presented by Viewmont Mall and a King’s College postgame fireworks show!
