RailRiders Best IronPigs to Even Series
Miguel Andujar Doubles Twice, Finishes with Three Hits
Allentown, Pa.
– The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/ New York Yankees) scored in the first
inning and never trailed en route to a 4-2 win over the Lehigh Valley
IronPigs on Friday night at Coca-Cola Park. The win evens the
best-of-five first round series and ends a six-game losing streak for
the RailRiders (1-1). The IronPigs (1-1) saw their seven-game winning
streak expire with the loss.
Chance Adams (1-0)
protected the early lead and pitched around five hits and four walks to
throw five innings. He allowed two runs and struck out five. Nick Rumbelow earned the save by retiring seven straight hitters to end the game. He struck out four, including the side in the ninth.
SWB scored twice in the first inning against Elniery Garcia (0-1). Mason Williams opened the game with a double and scored on a single by Billy McKinney. Williams came back in the third with a walk and moved to second on a wild pitch. Donovan Solano brought him in with a single for a 3-0 lead.
After
Lehigh Valley cut the deficit to one at 3-2 in the last of the third,
the RailRiders answered in the fifth. Williams again reached with a
leadoff single, quickly stole second and scored on Miguel Andujar’s second double of the night.
Andujar finished 3-for-5 with two doubles and an RBI.
