Longball Powers RailRiders to Sweep
Rob Refsnyder Booms A Pair of Home Runs
Moosic, Pa. –
The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) completed a three-game
sweep of the Indianapolis Indians with
a 7-1 triumph on Sunday afternoon at PNC Field. The win was the fourth
straight for the RailRiders (21-17), who finish the homestand 6-3. SWB
has won nine of the last 10 regular season meetings with the Indians
(17-18) in Moosic.
Dietrich Enns
(1-0) authored a quality start in his Triple-A debut. The
left-hander limited the Indians to one unearned run and four hits
across six innings. He walked two and struck out six. Wilfredo Boscan
(3-4) allowed five runs, four earned, on six hits over six frames in the
loss. He surrendered two home runs, walked one
and struck out four.
Just
as they had done in the prior two games, the Indians scored the first
run. Gift Ngoepe singled and advanced to second on a throwing error by
Aaron Judge. A single by Pedro Florimon brought him around for a 1-0 lead.
SWB overtook the Tribe with a four-run fourth. Judge began the stanza with a walk and advanced to second when
Rob Refsnyder reached on a fielding error at third. A double to left by
Jake Cave plated Judge to tie the game 1-1.
Donovan Solano followed with a thunderous home run to left, his first of the year. The three-run shot gave the RailRiders a 4-1 lead.
Refsnyder
opened the sixth inning with a homer into the RailRiders’ bullpen
beyond the left field wall. The round-tripper was his first of the year
and pushed the advantage to 5-1.
Ben Gamel
added to the cushion by driving in
Pete Kozma on a groundball double down the right field line in the seventh.
The
final run came courtesy of Refsnyder’s second home run of the day, a
towering shot onto the pedestrian bridge beyond the left field wall.
The RailRiders embark on a road
trip to Louisville for a four-game series against the Bats at Louisville
Slugger Field. First pitch on Monday night is set for 7:05 p.m.
Left-hander
Richard Bleier (1-1, 2.45) will oppose Bats righty Daniel Wright (0-0, 3.60). For tickets or more information, please call 570-969-BALL (2255) or visit swbrailriders.com.
