Pawtucket Edges RailRiders for Wednesday Win
Rob Refsnyder Moves Hitting Streak to 15 Games
Moosic, Pa. –
The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) collected 10 hits on the
night, but managed one run in a 2-1
setback to the Pawtucket Red Sox on Wednesday night at PNC Field. The
loss dropped the RailRiders (17-17) to .500. The Red Sox (16-17) have
won two straight over SWB.
The loss spoiled another solid outing for
Richard Bleier (1-1). The left-hander limited Pawtucket
to a pair of runs on five hits over seven quality innings. He walked one
and struck out three. Joe Kelly (1-0) notched the win for the Red Sox.
The Major League
rehabber held the RailRiders to a run on five hits over five innings.
Blake
Swihart launched Pawtucket out front with his first home run of the
season. The two-run jack soared over the left field wall with one out in
the fourth.
Aaron Judge
plated the only run for SWB in the fifth.
Jake Cave, making his 2016 debut with the RailRiders tripled to center with two outs and scored on a double to center by Judge.
Rob Refsnyder
finished the night 3-for-4 to extend his
hitting streak to 15 games. He has reached safely in 19 straight. Both
are the longest, active streaks in the International League.
The RailRiders turn to right-hander
Brady Lail (0-0, 9.82) on Thursday night to try and
salvage a split of the four-game series. He will oppose left-hander
Roenis Elias (0-2, 4.71). It’s “Thirsty Thursday” at PNC Field with a
first pitch set for 6:35
