TONIGHT: The Binghamton Rumble Ponies continue their seven-game road trip as they begin a four-game set against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

LAST TIME OUT: The Rumble Ponies fell 7-6 in 10 innings in the rubber game against the Bowie Baysox Wednesday. Ryan McKenna’s sacrifice bunt in the bottom of the 10th gave the Baysox the walk-off win. The Ponies over came deficits of 1-0, 3-1 and 5-3 and took the lead on a Patrick Mazeika solo homer in the seventh. The Baysox tied the game at six in the bottom of the ninth on a Brett Cumberland solo home run. Francisco Jimenez earned the win after pitching a 1-2-3 inning in the 10th. Joshua Torres suffered the loss as he allowed two runs on three hits over two innings.

MAZEIKA INCREASES TEAM LEADS: Patrick Mazeika hit his 15th home run of the year with a solo homer to lead off the seventh Wednesday. It was his 64th RBI of the season. Both are the most on the team. His 64 RBI rank fourth in the Eastern League.

CECCHINI STAYS HOT: Gavin Cecchini smacked two hits and two RBI Wednesday. He has now gotten a hit in nine of his last 10 games. He belted his third homer of 2019 with a solo blast in the second inning. It was his third multi-hit and fourth multi-RBI game of the year. The one appearance where he did not get a hit was when he grounded out as a pinch hitter in the ninth Sunday.

CARPIO TURNS UP THE HEAT IN AUGUST: Following his 3-5 game with two doubles Wednesday, Luis Carpio is now hitting an even .300 for the month of August. He has six RBI and four doubles in 16 games.

RUMBLE PONIES DROP SEVENTH STRAIGHT SERIES: After losing two out of three to Bowie, Binghamton has lost seven consecutive series. The Ponies are 6-17 in that stretch. Their last series win came July 25-July 28 when they took three of four from Bowie at NYSEG Stadium.

PONIES SWEPT LAST TRIP TO NEW HAMPSHIRE: The last time Binghamton visited New Hampshire, the Rumble Ponies swept the Fisher Cats in three games (June 18-20). Over the three games, the Ponies outscored the Cats 13-7. It was the last sweep for Binghamton. The Rumble Ponies are 5-2 at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, compared to 2-7 at NYSEG Stadium against New Hampshire.

TOFFEY’S HOMERS VS. FISHER CATS: Will Toffey has hit three of his five home runs this season against the Fisher Cats. Two of these roundtrippers came at New Hampshire.

COMING UP: The Rumble Ponies and Fisher Cats continue their four-game series Friday at 7:05PM. Knuckleballer Mickey Jannis faces off against fellow righty Thomas Hatch.
