Get autographs and meet the initial 2018 roster on April 4 at the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center.
MOOSIC, PA (March 1, 2018) – The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, will host their annual “Meet the RailRiders” event on Wednesday, April 4, at the Hilton Scranton and Conference Center. This annual event is presented in conjunction with Northeast Baseball, Inc., the group that was responsible for bringing baseball to the area in 1989.
“Meet the RailRiders” will begin at 5:00 p.m. with an autograph session in the Electric City Ballroom. At 6:30, the program will begin with a welcome from RailRiders Team President and General Manager Josh Olerud and new team manager Bobby Mitchell. After the initial 2018 roster is introduced and the updated uniforms are unveiled, the RailRiders will honor longtime public address announcer John Davies. Dinner will follow, and at 7:00, WNEP-TV will go live with player interviews and features from the Hilton’s Casey Grand Ballroom until 8:00. Jim Coles and the sports team from WNEP-TV will host the hour-long show on-site.
“We are thrilled to partner with the Hilton Scranton and WNEP-TV,” Olerud said. “This event has gotten bigger and better year-after-year, so working with the Hilton Scranton will allow it to continue that growth. It gives us the chance to close out the off-season, and with Opening Day on April 6, our fans need the opportunity to meet the new club. WNEP always does a great job, so this should be a fun twist on an established event.”
Adult tickets are $55.00 each while tickets for children 12 and younger are $30.00 apiece. Each ticket includes full dinner and select beverages. There will also be a cash bar. Autographs will be limited to a one-item-per-person basis.
The Hilton Scranton and Conference Center is proud to host this event in 2018 and will serve as the hotel for clubs visiting Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season. To purchase tickets or for more information regarding the “Meet the RailRiders” event, please contact the front office at (570) 969-2255.
