Ballyhack Golf Club and Hidden Creek Golf Club Host Girls Golf Events to Grow the Game
The Dormie Network club, an Official Marketing Partner of the LPGA, provides opportunities and support for Girls Golf in both Virginia and New Jersey
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., September 29, 2020 – The LPGA Foundation announced today that Ballyhack Golf Club and Hidden Creek Golf Club, both Dormie Network clubs, have partnered with LPGA*USGA Girls Golf, First Tee of Roanoke Valley, and First Tee of Jersey Shore to host Girls Golf clinics on Saturday, Oct. 17.
Dormie Network, a national network of private destination golf clubs, joined the LPGA family in June of 2019 as an Official Marketing Partner with the goal of helping the LPGA in its efforts to grow the game.
The no-cost events offer instruction on the fundamentals of golf in a fun and safe environment with a focus on the 5 E's of LPGA*USGA Girls Golf: Empower, Enrich, Engage, Exercise, and Energize. Open to girls aged 6 to 17 with an interest in golf, the event features activities such as Golfzilla, chipping and putting games as well as lively personalized drawings by local caricature artists.
“We are so excited for our second annual LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Day at beautiful Ballyhack Golf Club,” said Jennifer Blackwood, Site Director for Girls Golf of Roanoke, VA. “We are looking forward to another memorable afternoon that supports girls' interest in the game.”
“We are so excited to participate in this event at Hidden Creek Golf Club,” said Pam Boccaccio, Program Director for First Tee — Jersey Shore. “One of our key mission points at First Tee Jersey Shore is to support and nurture Girls Golf. This fun and educational event is a showcase of how impactful the program is for young ladies. We are proud to partner with the teams at Dormie Network, Hidden Creek, and the LPGA Foundation to provide this opportunity for our local girls to engage in.”
Through this event and others, LPGA*USGA Girls Golf has a goal of creating a safe space for young women to come together and encourage each other, not only in golf but in everyday activities. They are focused on messaging related to mentorship, peer-to-peer networking, creating lasting friendships, and teaching the girls that they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.
“Ballyhack is excited to once again host LPGA*USGA Girls Golf Day. In conjunction with Dormie Network, the club is honored to participate in this initiative to grow the game and serve the local community” said Ian Sikes, Ballyhack General Manager.
“Growing the game of golf and giving back to the local community are high priorities for Dormie Network, and these clinics are a fun and informative way to accomplish both of those goals. We are excited for the opportunity to partner with LPGA and host these young ladies’ at Hidden Creek Golf Club,” said Jon Chapman, Hidden Creek General Manager.
Interested families can still register for the no-cost event at Ballyhack Golf Club using this link. Pre-registration is required as space is limited this year. Unfortunately, registration for the event at Hidden Creek is now closed.
