PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (September 27, 2019) –  It was a fantastic Friday filled with music and message at NQC, the National Quartet Convention, presented by Christian Healthcare Ministries.

The halls of Pigeon Forge's LeConte Center were filled with glorious gospel music and meaningful ministry.

Once again, the day began with chapel service with the Mark Trammell Quartet providing special music, Mike Speck leading worship followed with a message by Todd Starnes of Fox News.

During his comedy showcase, Tim Lovelace delivered a heartfelt tribute to Les Beasley, who passed away after last year's NQC. Lovelace explained how Beasley gave so many their start in this genre of music and how he had impacted his own life so heavily.

Next up was Dr. David Jeremiah – an NQC audience favorite – stirred the crowd with his passionate and inspiring message.

The Collingsworth Family delivered their "Mercy & Love" Production, thrilling the crowd with their intricate and soaring family harmonies.

The evening concerts were hosted by Josh Franks. Tonight's performers were: Booth Brothers, Down East Boys, Ernie Haase & Sig. Sound, Gold City, Guardians, Hoppers, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Jim & Melissa Brady, Jordan Family Band, Kingdom Heirs, Kingsmen, Legacy Five, Lynda Randle, Mylon Hayes Family, Rick Webb Family, Three Bridges, Whisnants, Williamsons, Childress Family, Hyssongs, Joneses, Porter Family, and Quartet Gileade

Among tonight's highlights were:
  • The return of the Booth Brothers to the main stage and Jim & Melissa Brady, Josh Franks and Scott Brand joining them on the exciting song, "River Keeps Rolling"
  • Jeff & Sheri Easter, introducing their granddaughter (Daughter Morgan & her husband Landan Smith's daughter) Ryman Pauline Smith
  • Dean, Kim & Karlye Hopper joining Lynda Randle on her performance
  • Tribute Quartet joined the Kingdom Heirs for a spirited encore
  • Austin and Ethan Whisnant joining Conner and Bailey Hayes to form a young quartet for an impromptu performance
  • The Hoppers including a live string section - the Hall Sisters - during their set
  • and so much more!
NQC - the National Quartet Convention - wraps up tomorrow, Saturday, September 28, 2019, at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge, TN.

This year brings a change to Saturday's NQC schedule, as the evening concerts are moved to the afternoon, beginning at 2 PM. Chapel services and the afternoon showcases are earlier as well. Refer to the list below.

NQC - the National Quartet Convention - was founded in 1957 by gospel music legend and former backup vocalist for Elvis Presley, J.D. Sumner who co-produced the event with James Blackwood. The annual convention was moved in later years to Nashville, TN and then to Louisville, KY where it was held for 20 years.
